You know…

| July 6th, 2007

I started writing an update about how my new tablet kicks the anus, but it would seem that my inspiration ran dry. Maybe it’s because I’m utterly uninspired. Who knows, who cares?

I notice that but three posts below this I was working at a different job. It seems like a lifetime ago that I was sitting behind a desk growing fatter by ingesting cheese-flavored crackers and Mountain Dew in an effort to stay awake. Yes, former employees NALCO YES I SAID IT HI NALCO, I mean you. Honestly, only three posts down I was sitting there doing absolutely nothing. I tried so desperately to make my job sound important—yes, I supported 28 countries’ software installations, but in reality I sat behind a desk and played Super Nintendo roms. Hella fun games, but the job itself was ultimately self-defeating. Whatever, I ranted on long enough about how shitty my job used to be. The point of this paragraph was actually to illustrate the fact that my old job inspired me to rant more. I was angrier. A lot angrier. Mostly because I was surrounded by stupidity and incompetency rivaled only by the Special Olympics and listening to the employees behind the counter while standing in line at Burger King. Nowadays I’m quite content, I’m working a fulfilling job I DO NOT WORK FOR TECHANGELS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT doing all the things I enjoy doing in my spare time, except for other people. Cool.

I moved; ironically into the same building as the TechAngels office. If I actually worked in said office, my commute would be roughly 45 seconds to 2 minutes, however I happen to work in the field, so no such luck. I’m paying more in rent than most people pay in mortage payments, but the location is superb and the view is damned satisfying. Granted, the place is a mess, but once more of my stuff comes in and I get things settled down I’ll be able to start on the projects I’ve been dying to start. One of which happens to be to convert my old iBook G3 into a fulltime digital picture frame/MP3 server that will tie into my home entertainment center. Another of which is to find Hotplate, the new server that we’ve been working on, a new home in one of my closet shelves. Ideally I’d like every component of my apartment working together so that when I come home I can sit my fat ass on a couch and just go “TEEHEE LOOK AT MY FUTURISTIC APARTMENT.” Total budget for these changes? I dunno, $10? Whatever it costs me to get a sheet of plexiglass and some adhesive.

Also I’m putting my printer in my closet. I don’t ever want to look at it. Thank God for wireless network printers.

I’m done rambling now. Woo.
